Origin of the Name

In Chinese, the word “日影” means a shadow cast in sunlight; in older usage, it could also mean the sun itself, or light and shadow. In Japanese, it is read “ひかげ” (hikage) and means both sunlight and the hours of daylight.

Light and shadow shift, and time moves on. The Hikage app records the time within that light and shadow.
